Bringing Together Researchers and People to Advance the Work
The Love Research Army, formerly the Army of Women, is a program of the Dr. Susan Love Foundation for Breast Cancer Research. This groundbreaking initiative connects women and men, with or without breast cancer, to researchers committed to solving important breast cancer questions. Our goal is to forge partnerships between our members and the scientific community.
In October 2008, the Dr. Susan Love Foundation partnered with the Avon Foundation for Women to launch the Army of Women. Thanks to the Avon Foundation's generous support over the first five years, this program has developed into a vital resource for breast cancer researchers and a model for fast-tracking breast cancer research. The Army of Women has served as a vital resource for breast cancer researchers and a model for fast-tracking breast cancer research for over 10 years. In 2020, in order to better reflect our longstanding commitment to fostering inclusive research the Army of Women has rebranded itself as Love Research Army — Same mission. Same goals. Different name. Dr. Susan Love Foundation for Breast Cancer Research is a 501(c)(3) non-profit breast cancer organization dedicated to ending breast cancer by engaging the public and the scientific communities in innovative research. We do this through performing and facilitating innovative and collaborative research, translating science to engage the public as informed partners, and inspiring novel research.

Featured study: REIMAGINE Trial, 2016
Reimagine.me investigated the impact of a structured online patient support program on women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and are experiencing chronic pain. The research team's accrual goal for the Love Research Army was 75 women. Within 24 hours of the request to participate, 112 women signed up for the study, with a total of 222 women signing up over six weeks.
Army Member Spotlight:
"After a serious breast cancer diagnosis, I recognize that my life was literally saved by the experiences of those that have gone before me. I have a choice to either shut that chapter or help another woman overcome her illness. I choose to be useful and the Love Research Army provides me that opportunity."
Army Researcher Spotlight:
