The Standards for Privacy of Individually Identifiable Health Information (Privacy Rule) establishes the national standards for the protection of health information as set forth by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
As a recruitment source, Dr. Susan Love Foundation's Love Research Army is not a HIPAA-covered entity. However, we have chosen to adhere to all HIPAA guidelines. Dr. Susan Love Foundation expects all research institutions and centers that seek volunteers through the Love Research Army to follow HIPAA guidelines.
Dr. Susan Love Foundation does not collect or store health information from Love Research Army participants. If and when any health-related questions are asked to determine eligibility for a particular study, the information collected on the RSVP form will not be stored electronically or physically. Once a participant signs up for a supported study, the following information will be provided to the researchers conducting the study: full name, year of birth, ethnicity, physical address, phone number and email address.
